Nice to meet you.
31 January 2022

We have an amazing team at YST and we wouldn’t be where we are now without them. Here is an introduction to each of the faces behind YST.

Our Clients Operations Director Claire’s key responsibilities are to oversee the bookkeeping team and build strong relationships with our clients and networks. CIMA qualified and with a background in large company finance departments, she has helped to support our clients in growing their businesses. She also provides excellent financial information, reports, forecasting and advice. Her biggest challenge has been setting up YST and learning all aspects of running a business. From marketing to pricing and networking to dealing with HMRC it’s all been a huge learning curve, but she has loved every minute of it! Outside of work you will find Claire doing the school and nursery run, watching Frozen (for the 1000th time!) or building lego! A fun fact about Claire is that she once served John Craven dinner and she got to grade 7 playing the flute when she was younger playing in many ensembles and orchestras.

Business Operations Director Hayley’s key responsibilities are to manage the overall functioning of the business operations, implementing policies, processes and plans to help us to continue to grow. And to make sure we have a happy team and clients. Right now, it feels like her biggest accomplishment has been generally surviving the past 18+ months both in a business and personal sense. Seeing the business continue to grow despite what we’ve all gone through is a huge accomplishment. Outside of YST Hayley loves walking, exercising, gigs and generally socialising (our Hayley LOVES a good night out)! Hayley had always wanted to be a TV Extra and loves all things zombies, so when she got the chance to be a Zombie extra in a film, she just couldn’t turn it down!

Our Accounts Manager Tabitha is the longest employee of YST who started in July 2017. Tabitha’s key responsibilities are to manage her own set of clients assisting them with outsourced financing and monthly bookkeeping. She also manages the bookkeeping team and is responsible for work allocation, training and support so that our clients are matched up with the best person in the team to assist them.
Tabitha’s biggest challenge was definitely trying to balance everything over the last 6 months as we had some new members of the team start with us, we had Covid interruptions, lots of new client work plus family commitments all running alongside a 12 week management training course. Outside of YST you will find her in the in the garden or on the slopes. A fun fact about Tabitha is that she once failed an audition cut for the Lord of the Rings for being ½ inch too short…..she obviously was not destined to be an Orc!

Our Finance Manager Lubna has been with the team for nearly 4 years. She works predominantly for one large client as their financial controller and works closely with their team. She manages the day-to-day finances, as well as preparing monthly management accounts, budgets/forecasts, cashflow analysis and presenting these to the Finance committee & Board. Her biggest challenge was managing work commitments and home-schooling during lockdown in March 2020. Outside of YST Lubna loves spending time with family ..and running around after her two boys! Thanks to the flexibility of her role, she is still able to fit in school pickups, drop offs and general ‘mum’s personalised taxi service’ duties! Not sure it would be classed as a fun fact, but Lubna is terrified of dogs!

Sandra has been with us for 3 years and works with a number of our clients. She does their day-to-day bookkeeping and prepares the accounts for VAT returns and year ends. Her biggest challenge was completing her AAT qualification while taking care of seriously ill family members and juggling two children. Much of her revision was done when the kids were at dance classes, but it was all worth it. Outside of work Sandra can be seen on the dancefloor. She started dancing salsa socially in 2017; after a break during lockdown, she is so happy to be back. A fun fact about Sandra is that when she was 18, she worked on cruise ships, which was a great way to travel and earn some money at the same time.

Our Business Support Manager Adele has been with us since May 2019. Her role is to provide management support to the Business Operations Director along with administrative support across all areas of the business. She also provides some of our clients with business support. Adele has always wanted to put her A level English literacy to good use so now that she writes all the blogs and social media for the business, she finds this a huge accomplishment and one of her favourite parts of her role.
When she is not in the gym, she is spending time with her family. She loves girly days with her daughter and going on walks, watching films and going on as many holidays and adventures as possible with her family. A fun fact about Adele is that she used to be a model with the same agency as Kate Moss and has been an extra in Hollyoaks, Brookside, Shameless (to name a few) and a double for Sarah Parrish in Cutting it.

Lee is our tech whizz and we sometimes don’t know how we coped without him! Lee has been with us for 6 months and his key responsibilities are looking after a various array of clients, keeping their account up to date, running month end reports, VAT returns and using his excel knowledge to speed up various tasks where possible. His biggest accomplishment was one of the spreadsheets that he had created. He created an advanced tracking spreadsheet which took 8 hours to create instead of the 20+ hours it should have taken. Outside of work you will most likely find Lee rebuilding Megablok towers after his son knocked them down. A fun fact about Lee is that when he was born, he was the youngest person in the world for about 0.7 seconds. Also, his nickname throughout school was the human calculator as he once ranked in the top 100 students in England for his mental maths ability.

Our latest member of the team is the lovely Sam. Sam recently joined YST as a Bookkeeper and her role is to assist clients daily, providing up to date information on their accounts. Sam has fitted in straight away and already looks after many of our clients. One of Sam’s biggest accomplishments over the last 24 months was her commitment to her ongoing personal development. Even with all the intermittent lockdowns and changes Sam continued to motivate herself to continue her development. To achieve her goals, she had to set herself a series of milestones that she wanted to achieve by a set date, from bookkeeping qualifications, further training and learning new systems.
Although her friends could describe her as a weekend Netflix potato, Sam does also love to get out into the fresh air whenever possible. If you don’t find her on a walk in the lakes with her partner, you’ll find her potentially in a kayak or walking her English Bulldog through the Park. A fun fact about Sam is that she has always been a huge fan of travelling, having visited incredible countries like Thailand, The Philippines and Australia.

We have a fab team at YST and we hope you think so too.  We are currently looking the next amazing bookkeeper to join our team so if you know anyone that may be interested please let us know at info@yoursupportteamltd.co.uk.
