Celebrating 8 years
1 October 2023

We’re celebrating 8 years in business!

A birthday is a great time to reflect on what you’ve achieved over the last year and so we thought it would be fun to reflect on all the positive things that have happened for YST this year.

The Dream Team!

Wow, what a year it has been. We have had a couple of new starters this year taking us to a team of 10! We have a brilliant team and the perfect blend of personalities and skills meaning we can provide our clients with everything from transactional processing to monthly accounts and e-mail inbox management to financial forecasts.  The full outsourced Finance Team.

We’re hoping to get some team pictures taken in the near future and a meet the team on our website.

Our clients

It’s been a busy year of Xero set-ups and training as well as taking on some new retainer clients. We recently launched our new programme “Your Path to Success” and already taken 3 clients on their journey to a 3 year financial plan.

We want to thank all our clients for their continued support. We have had some amazing feedback recently and this really helps us to ensure we are giving everyone the best service.

We’re still part of the Inspire 25 Club (Speed of Sight charity) which enables businesses to support and change lives of people living with life-limiting disabilities. We’re really proud to be part of this charity and still hope to have some more involvement over the next year.

We have also started supporting one of our lovely clients JCM who work with a group of independent foodbanks to ensure they’re well stocked. Already this year, JCM have provided 20,000 meals for families in dire need. Each year they will identify 3 or 4 initiatives that help families step out of poverty. We’re proud to be working alongside them to help these families in need.

We have also helped our local food bank whenever possible.

It’s been a crazy year for networking from networking on boats to up mountains! We’ve continued to be part of the amazing Business Network with Hayley and Claire even attending the same one – confusing the people that think they’re the same person.

Nights out

It’s been a bit quiet this year for nights out. The bigger the team gets, the harder it is to get a date when everyone is free, but we did have a fabulous night at Christmas, some of us had a great time at Junk Yard Golf and we went out in Bramhall in July for tapas and dancing. We’re now getting ready for our Xmas night out 2023 where we’re off to Manchester for tapas and The Flight Club.

It may have not been a busy year for nights out, but it has been a busy year for events. Hayley and Adele were in London at the Shard for a meeting with James Ashford from GoProposal. We were also at Accountex, The Greater Manchester Business Fair, BITA and various other business fairs. Sandra attended Chester Racecourse for one our clients’ conferences and Jen was in Manchester for one of our clients launches. We have also had some days out visiting clients which we always love to do.

We held a couple of drop-in sessions at our office which were great successes and something we will be looking at doing more of in the future.

We love technology not only for our clients but for ourselves. We know that time is precious, and we want to make life easier for everyone. We have embraced a lot of new systems this year that have not only helped save time but also helped grow our skills and learn new things.

We now use a system called Pixie which is a platform especially for accounting and bookkeeping firms which provides everything we need to streamline workflows and track deadlines. It’s perfect for us to be able to delegate, manage and complete tasks for all our clients. It also helps with our GDPR meaning we can securely send and receive documents to clients and collect e-signatures.

On reflection

Looking back it’s been a crazy year and we have so much coming up over the next couple of months.

Have you got a work birthday coming up? We highly recommend reflecting on your past year and all that you have achieved and asking yourself some questions on how to succeed the next year.

  • Is your business where you want it to be?
  • What do you want to achieve this year?
  • Do you have the right resources to achieve this?

We have an amazing programme for anyone that is wanting to know more about how to grow their business and what steps to take to get there. If you’re interested, please get in touch.
